Commute Smarter with NYC Ferry Student Savings
NYC Ferry Student Discount
Starting August 1, 2026, eligible New York City high school students can access their 2026–2027 NYC Ferry Student Discount through the NYC Schools Account (NYCSA). To access the program, Parents or guardians must request a unique discount code from the NYCSA portal. Once received, the code can be used to purchase discounted weekday ferry tickets through the NYC Ferry app or for paper tickets at participating ticket locations.
How to Get the Student Discount
- Log in to or create a NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) as a parent or guardian.
- Open the Transportation tab in the NYCSA portal.
- If the student is eligible, select Request Discount Code.
- Receive the student's unique NYC Ferry discount code.
Redeem the code in one of the following ways:
NYC Ferry App: Enter the code under the Promo Code section to buy discounted mobile tickets.
Paper Tickets: Enter the code on the paper ticket application online or present it at the Wall St./Pier 11 ticket window to purchase discounted paper tickets.
Terms & Conditions
- Student Discount Tickets are valid on weekdays only.
- Each discount code can be linked to one NYC Ferry account only.
- A code can be used for either mobile tickets or paper tickets, but not both.
- Student discount codes expire at the end of August each year.
- Students must re-enroll annually to receive a new discount code.
- Eligibility is subject to NYC Ferry program requirements and policies.
