WMATA Student Discount

Eligible students can save on public transportation through WMATA's U•Pass College Student Program, which provides unlimited Metro Rail and Metro Bus rides throughout the semester. The program is included in tuition at participating colleges, making it equivalent to about $1 per day.

To claim the U•Pass benefit, you must be a full-time student at a college or university that participates in the program. Once your enrollment is confirmed through your school, you'll receive access to unlimited rides on Metro Rail and Metro Bus for the duration of the semester. Contact your school's transportation or student services office for enrollment details and instructions on activating your pass.

Students in the District of Columbia may also qualify for the Kids Ride Free program, which allows eligible students aged 5 to 21 to ride Metro Bus and Metro Rail free for school and school-related activities.
