About Janji
Janji is the world’s top socially conscious running brand. Every season, Janji goes to a different country around the world, meets with local artists, meets with local fabric makes, and designs a line around that country. Janji, a Boston-based company, sells clothing with images of Haiti, Rwanda, Peru, Tanzania, the United States, and Kenya, the nations where Janji is actively involved.
Janji History
At Washington University in St. Louis, members of the cross-country team created Janji. During their trip to the 2010 NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships, David Spandorfer and Michael Burnstein had the inspiration to start a business that sells running gear while also giving back to the community. Over the course of the following two years, the group transformed Janji into a respectable and expanding business after hiring David Hamm as the head designer and Ken Fairleigh to oversee the operations team.
